Now that schools are beginning to wrap up for the year and the summer is just around the corner, it’s time to start enjoying the great outdoors! For those of you who have been living in Houston for quite some time, the vast array of beautiful parks to visit may be common knowledge. To those of you new to the area, we’d like to offer some insight.
First, let’s take a look at an asbolutely beautiful park in the Museum District (close by to one of our self storage locations & our Houston wine storage facility!) The Herman Park Conservancy is one of the favorite parks for visitors to take a trip to in Houston. Located at 6201-A Hermann Park Drive, it is surely worth the trip. Take a look at the Japanese Gardens within the park below:
Next, we’d like to recommend a trip to Memorial Park. Packed with over 30 miles of hiking trails, it is the perfect place to enjoy nature to the fullest extent. Grab the family and spend the day exploring! Located at 757 Picnic Lane, this park is easily accessible my most in the area. In addition to hiking, visitors can enjoy croquet, cycling, golf, swimming, biking, playgrounds, and skating!
Lastly we’d like to share an awesome spot to spend some time right on the edge of the downtown area. Sam Houston Park at 1100 Bagby offers a beautiful slice of history, and is the oldest park in Houston. Enjoy a visit and get a taste of the roots of this beautiful city!
We hope these recommendations were helpful. Enjoy your time exploring!
