Best Date Ideas In Houston For Spring

While it may have been harder to date during the pandemic, the coming months offer plenty of opportunities. As things slowly return to normal, there will be more and more chances for you and that special someone to have plenty of fun together. Since we here at Proguard are all about having fun, here are our suggestions for some of the best date ideas in Houston as Spring 2021 gets underway.

Rock the Night Away

If the two of you love live music, Houston has plenty of spots where dancing the night away is always exciting. If you’re up to the challenge, we suggest such great places as Warehouse Live, Satellite Bar, and The Rustic, all of which have excellent reputations for having some of Houston’s best live music performances.

Cheese and Wine

While the two of you make a great-looking couple, so do cheese and wine. If you agree, then plan a date that includes a stop at Montrose Cheese & Wine. Featuring wines from smaller, local wineries, you’ll have lots of cheeses and over 125 different wines from which to choose. While you could stay there and get to know one another better, we suggest you head over to Buffalo Bayou Park for an intimate picnic.

Fido and Friends

If both of you happen to be dog lovers, make a date where your dogs come along as well. Here in Houston, there are many different canine-friendly spots to grab a bite and let your dogs interact with one another. Since we love our dogs here at Proguard, we suggest you try the Onion Creek Cafe, Monkey’s Tail, and Christian’s Tailgate. After all, if your dogs find true love with one another, you know your relationship is just meant to be.

There’s Nothing Like BBQ

Here in the Lone Star State, we know that if you really want to get to know someone, do so over a great meal of BBQ. Since we know you can never get enough great-tasting BBQ, make sure you stop by Corkscrew BBQ or Blood Bros. BBQ, both of which offer mouth-watering BBQ that will leave you longing for more.

Can You Hit the Target?

In our opinion, if you can ever find someone who knows how to throw an axe like a pro, they are a keeper. If you agree with us, take your significant other to Houston Axe Throwing and see how it goes. Along with the axe-throwing sessions, you can also sign up for lessons and participate in some fun games.

A Date on Wheels

If you long for the good ol’ days when you could take your date to the local roller-skating rink, Houston still lets you do this at the Dairy Ashford Roller Rink. Even if neither of you are skating experts, falling down and embarrassing yourself time after time will likely have both of you laughing by the end of the night. As an added bonus, we suggest you end the evening by stopping by the nearby Baskin Robbins for a sundae to ease your bruises.

Pie 24/7

While the sundaes at Baskin Robbins are fantastic, so is a great slice of pie. No matter the type, you just can’t go wrong when a date also includes a visit to House of Pies, located in Upper Kirby. Considered an old-school diner, it’s open 24/7, meaning you and your date can slip in at 2 a.m. if you prefer to satisfy your late-night cravings.

Farmers Market Bike Tour

Should both of you lead active lifestyles, one of our favorite date suggestions is to take part in the farmers market bike tour. Hosted by Bayou City Outdoors, you can either participate in the 15-mile excursion or plan your own ride to visit select markets along the way. Whichever option you select, you and your friend can get some exercise, spend quality time together, and pick up a few homemade jams and other goodies during your ride.

Sawyer Yards

If both of you love art, get together on the second Saturday of a spring month and head to the warehouses at Sawyer Yards, where local artists open their studios to the public. Once there, you can enjoy sculptures, paintings, photography, jewelry, and much more.
