The holiday season is coming to a close. Now it’s time to take stock of all the beautiful gifts we have given and received, put our tons of decorations back into storage units (delicately, though, don’t go breaking your ornaments!), and get back into the normal swing of life. But just because we all have to go back to work and school, doesn’t mean that we can’t still find some personal fun time with friends and family. As you know, there is always something to do and eat in Houston, but here are our top picks for the winter season!

Skating at The ICE: Who doesn’t love a little classic Winter fun? The ICE has the largest outdoor skating rink in the entire Southwest, and it is now open to the public. Don’t miss your chance to have some great fun any day through January 21st. They even host a romantic date night for couples every Wednesday.

Zoo Light Show: Some great family fun can be found down at the Houston Zoo this January. The Houston landmark is putting on a beautiful light show up until January 14.

Yaga’s Chili Quest and Beer Fest: The Chili & Beer fest is back! The 9th annual chili and beer festival is back! Go check it out on Galveston Island on January 19th and 20th.

Marathon Watch Party at Urban Eats: Even though it is a little colder this time of year, it definitely isn’t cold enough to stop the awesome runners for the Chevron Houston Marathon. The annual marathon is on schedule for January 14, and the Washington Ave bistro and bar Urban Eats is hosting a wonderful morning viewing party. So, get some waffles and check out the HMC’s website if you want to donate to their awesome cause.

Saint Arnold One Pot Showdown: The famous Saint Arnold Brewery is hosting its 11th annual One Pot Showdown on Sunday January 28th. If you think you can put together some delicious beer and your culinary magic, go see what you can do!

Hello, Trees! A Walking Serenade: Houston’s Discovery Green is already so beautiful; now YOU can be a part of the magic. Check out the interactive art display all the way through February 23rd.

Enjoy all of the wonderful things to do in Houston this Winter! Don’t forget to pay Proguard Storage a visit for all your self-storage needs.
